Goddess Decided

by Eve Decker

You believe you’re better than most folks
You’re a queen, it’s nice when that’s seen
And if they miss it, which most of them do
It’s all about them, it’s not about you
And you believe you’re worse off than most folks
A bad seed, born incomplete
And if they see it that’s your shame
So you go to great lengths to try to hide your pain

(Chorus)
This time the Goddess decided
To send in the big guns so you’ll finally learn
She sent her best teachers some cannot survive them
But She knows you can

You believe there’s something you’re protecting
When you don’t tell the truth, not even sure what the truth is
You believe if you keep on rejecting
This world the way it is somehow that’ll make you safe

Chorus This time the Goddess decided
To send in the big guns so you’ll finally learn
She sent her best teachers some cannot survive them
But She knows you can, so let yourself burn

Make room in your heart and honor these teachers
A comfortable chair where grief can sit down
Anger needs space to shout out her curses
Give fear a soft pillow, warm blanket to doubt

Chorus
